This course allows the student to acquire and develop the basic language skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing with the additional introduction of the cultural context that has produced the language. The student will learn the relationship between language and culture to foster the ability to understand the people and how they express themselves. The course also immerses the student in the culture as well as the language with the goal of enhancing an awareness of and respect and appreciation for the global interdependence of the modern world and the cultural diversity of the world community. 16 hours (Textbook required) |
