Development Grants Offered by
The Office of Continuing Education (CEd)
Course
Development Grants are offered to support faculty in adapting
credit and noncredit courses delivered using non-traditional
teaching/learning formats that target an expanded learner base.
Noncredit courses must show potential to become credit courses
in the future. These courses contribute to the Outreach and
Engagement mission of Ohio State by extending the research base
throughout Ohio, the nation and the world.
Non-traditional
teaching/learning formas include a wide variety of delivery
methods and include, but are not limited to: web-based courseware;
interactive video; synchronous and asynchronous web casting;
self-instructional DVD or CD-ROM packages; one-way video or
audio conferencing; courses delivered as part of a conference
or workshop; courses linked with research grants; and contracts
with business/industry/schools to provide courses for professional
development or a combination of these.
Funds
may be used to:
• provide faculty release time for course development
• contract technical assistance for course development and
delivery
• develop and distribute marketing materials for the course
