REGISTRATION

To register, you must complete the registration application and the enrollment contract and submit these documents to the university, along with your payment. The following sections describe the registration process and present important information.

the following information.

Admission Requirement
We require you to hold a bachelor’s degree (in any field) by the date of application to the program. All candidates for certification must hold a bachelor’s degree (in any field) from a regionally accredited college or university to be eligible for CFP® certification.

Program Cost and Payment Options
The accelerated program is a six-course package. The program’s total cost is $4,950. This price includes the five courses on CFP Board topics, the Comprehensive Review Course, all study materials for each course, and parking permits as needed. Program costs do not include any travel expenses.

Two payment options are available:

  • Option A – Pay the full amount ($4,950) with your registration application.
  • Option B – Pay $1,500 with your registration application to reserve a seat in the class, with the balance ($3,450) due by February 1, 2010.

Registration Deadline and Enrollment Limit
The registration deadline for the 2010 program is February 1, 2010. Enrollment at each location is limited to the first 27 applicants to successfully complete the registration process. Should we reach the enrollment limit before the registration deadline, we will close registration without notice.

Enrollment Contract
The enrollment contract describes the terms and conditions of your enrollment in the program. You must complete this document as part of the registration process.

Registration Options
You can register in-person or by mail or fax, using a credit card, personal check, money order, or purchase order:

  • We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover®, and American Express.
  • Make your personal check or money order payable to The Ohio State University.
  • Your payment (according to the terms of the payment option chosen under Program Cost and Payment Options) must accompany your registration.

Select one of the following registration options:

  • Register in-Person: Download and complete the registration application and enrollment contract, and bring these forms, along with your payment, to Ohio State's Office of Continuing Education, 152 Mount Hall, 1050 Carmack Road, Columbus, Ohio 43210-1002, during regular business hours.
  • Register by Mail
    Download and complete the registration application and enrollment contract, and send these forms, along with your payment (personal check, money order, credit card or purchase order number), to the following address:

  • Register by Fax
    Download and complete the registration application and enrollment contract, and fax these forms along with your payment information (credit card or purchase order number) to Ohio State's Office of Continuing Education at (614) 292-0492.

Once your registration has been processed, you will receive a registration confirmation. This confirmation is your receipt.

If applicable, you will receive a parking permit in advance of the first class meeting.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and CFP (with flame logo)®, which it awards to individuals who successfully complete initial and ongoing certification requirements.

The Ohio State University does not certify individuals to use the CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and CFP (with flame logo)® certification marks. CFP certification is granted only by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards to those persons who, in addition to completing an educational requirement such as this CFP Board-Registered Program, have met its ethics, experience, and examination requirements.

Continuing Education non-credit course discounts do not apply to courses in the CFP® Certification Education Program.
